www.devicemag.com/2010/01/20/half-life-2-episode-3-probably-not-coming-this-year/This is only at rumor status for right now, but if it turns out to be ture, I'm going to be pretty sore. The blow would be softened if we were to see Portal 2 announced or released anytime soon, however... Though, I will riot if we get Left 4 Dead 3 before either. And make an obligatory immature comment about Gabe Newell's size.

At this rate I'm expecting a Half-Life 3 before HL2 Ep. 3.
Amusingly, I finally beat HL2 Ep. 1 the other day and HL2 Ep. 2 last night.

Matt beat me to it. Deep in an underground bunker, Gabe Newman is hard at work developing HL3 in secret as he did HL2.

no hurry. they need to take their time and do it right. they're not hurting for cash, they're not under the thumb of a publisher that'll try to force their hand, and they're known for their quality output.
I'm still in awe over how they were able to rally so much of the company around Left 4 Dead 2 and churn out such an amazingly improved game (over an already awesome game) in such a short period of time. That's just fucking insane. Everyone was pretty sure it'd be more of the same, but holy. shit. And done in under a year from start to finish? Insane.

I rather wish this article listed a source.

Where's that picture of Newman hanging out with bitches instead of making HL games?

New HL2: Episode 3 Release Date: When it's done. Hey, somebody's gotta fill the gap now that Duke Forever's been cancelled/placed under legal stasis.

I rather wish this article listed a source. I actually saw another announcement about it at Joystiq. However... www.joystiq.com/2010/01/19/game-informer-no-half-life-2-episode-3-for-you-in-2010/I don't think the rumor section of effin' Game Informer is any more credible than no source at all. As it is, this is just a rumor buzzing about, and we need to wait for Newell to stop eating... no, not yet. Revision: We just need to wait for someone at Valve to further confirm our disappointment.

Gabe Newell, he fat as hell! Gabe ate the original release date. Right between sweating nacho cheese and trolling the PS3.

Gabe was going to release Episode 3 this year, but he's turned his attention to a project he's wanted to do for a long time: making and then eating the world's biggest pizza.
