Maybe Half-Life 2: Episode 3 will be.... Half Life 3?  If I'm remembering correctly, it's already been commented on by Valve that the episodes basically are Half-Life 3. |

How long does it take to churn out an expansion pack to a game that you already have most of the resources for already?

To be fair, Turtlerock Studios are the primary developers for the Left 4 Dead games, Valve just bought them mid-development of the first game. L4D2 also adds a pretty significant amount of new content. I feel less like it was an expansion pack and more like it was "the game L4D should have been," though.

Explorers have yet to map most of Newell's expanse. At least two ecosystems have been identified, including old growth forest.
