The name "Valve" comes from a failed experiment that Gabe Newell funded to attach a spigot to the back of his head that dispenses Mountain Dew. Their current logo comes from the concept sketches.

A "Gabie" is a unit of measurement used to stress test elevators. Most can't handle more than 1.65 Gabies, known as Newell's Threshhold.
