Same here. Would have totally past on Nier if it wasn't for this place.

If you like the Nier/Weiss banter, you're going to love this game.

I trust word of mouth on this forum infinitely more than any "professional" reviewing site these days. I would love to see the grading of games done away with but then what would metacritic do? Marketing would have to pay people to read reviews for a quotable line on the box! How horrifying Quoted for absolute truth. I trust the regulars here for the most part and that's pretty much it. There are, of course, times where I take a risk and go play something in spite of what everyone says I guess that's the nature of trying to find that gem in the rough, eh?

Beat the game tonight, and I really loved it. While I would have preferred the game to be a tad more fleshed out and slower paced, it was a really excellent action game that constantly put you right into the meat of the game. The humor is consistently very funny in addition to it being a very solid and excellently fun TPS. Suda51 has a tendency of making me always crave for more of his style, though.

I'll probably end up picking this one up if I can find it. Looks really interesting. Does it really say "A Suda51 Trip" on the cover???

If you like the Nier/Weiss banter, you're going to love this game. Ok, I'm sold. How's the voice acting? That was one of the things that really sold me on Nier, the voices on the principal characters were great. BTW, it's amusing hearing the voice of Weiss as a borderline date-rapist in "Girls Bravo," which is on Netflix now. Check it out when your girlfriend and/or mom are out of the house though.

Suda 51 didn't direct it, so giving him all this credit is kind of weird, but whatever.
And oddly enough, reviews have been very positive.
But I don't like what I've seen.

Suda is the Executive Director, whatever that means.

Suda is the Executive Director, whatever that means. Executive Director = Guy who takes credit for everyone else's work.

If you play it you can definitely see his influence. The innuendo is everywhere and it oozes his style. What don't you like about it, exactly?

Suda is the Executive Director, whatever that means. He's Executive Director because "Guy Who Scribbled Out the Basic Concept on a Bar Napkin" is a bit unwieldy.

Isn't that how he makes all his games, though? Though I imagine NMH's basic concept was scribbled on toilet paper. It certainly explains the bizarre giveaway at NMH's launch in Japan.

Voice acting is excellent. BTW, they have some interesting actors doing voices for the Japanese version...Tadanobu Asano (Kakihara in "Ichi the Killer," and more recently Hogun the Grim in "Thor") is Garcia, and Chiaki Kuriyama (who played Go Go Yubari) is the voice of the girlfriend.
