I'll hand Sega that much. They do release better compilations than Nintendo. Then again, Nintendo doesn't release any compilations at all. I wouldn't really call All-Stars a compilation, as it's technically a bunch of remakes.

There was that Zelda comp for the 'Cube, but it was a free giveaway to Nintendo's online community somehow..? Nintendo's not into comps too much, it seems, which is a bit of a shame - I'd gladly buy an arcade set of theirs.

Ah, that's right. I have that. It was a freebie for subscribing to Nintendo Power back in late 2003, I believe. I think it only has Zelda 1 and 2 on it, though.

The two NES and two N64 Zeldas, plus a Wind Waker demo (I have it, too).

I could have sworn that the two N64 games were a separate disc and offered as a pre-order bonus for Wind Waker.

That was Ocarina of Time and its Master Quest - Ocarina sans Master Quest and Majora's Mask were part of the Collector's Disc with the NES games. It's very confusing. XD

Those Zelda discs go for alot second hand as well. I was at the used game shop the other day, and the Ocarina one was like 30 bucks without a case.

It's really ridiculous how much Gamestop charges for those free promotions. XD I suppose other places do the same, gauging by your statement, Lee. They're both solid, but not worth $30 to 40 dollars.

There was also the Ninja Gaiden trilogy on the SNES... about the only other Nintendo comp I can think of.

I could have sworn that the two N64 games were a separate disc and offered as a pre-order bonus for Wind Waker. In Europe this not a Preorder bonus but came in all First Print Runs of Wind Waker. You can easily tell which versions have it included because they come in Gold Case boxes and have the old ELPSA age ratings the Reprints has a PEGI rating instead no Gold Case or Bonus Disc. The Zelda collection in Europe they was two ways of geting. The hard way collect enough Nintendo Points for their online website you need a crazy amount for it. The easy way Late gamecube models came with it packed in I belive in Europe only. How I got a copy though was from a shop Woolworths localy somehow had a new copy on their shelves of it for £3.50 im 100% they was not ment to sell it alone. The game does in Europe go for quite alot Used though. All-Stars though I find it pathetic tht the Wii version is not even based of the later versions of the cart that had Super Mario World included as well. Only real game collections Nintendo make are The Game and Watch series that also have updated versions included that series got 4 Titles (5 if you could the Game Boy title that is not called Game and Watch called 5 in 1 I think?) Two exist for DS but are only sold though Nintendos online store and just have games based off the Original Game and Watch versions no Remakes.

I got the Zelda Collection disc by joining the swedish Club Nintendo back in the day. I haven't even opened it and don't really feel the need to. Maybe I'll sell it someday.
Nintendo did release a few "collections" for NES though, like the one with Nintendo World Cup, Tetris and... erh... SMB1, was it? Also, there's the Duck Hunt/SMB combo. Though as far as I remember they only came with the console and couldn't be obtained elsewhere. One could argue that these weren't really "real" collections because of that.
The Metroid Prime Trilogy, however, was a nice idea. Nintendo should've included the 2D games too though.

Yeah the Zelda Collection came packed in with the Double Dash Gamecube in Europe. (I bought it cause I thought it was a proper limited edition at the time- sold my old Gamecube for it- what a fool!). The console box had a sleeve on it with some note 'from Miyamoto' on it too. I ended up coming across the individual copy of the collectors edition which seemed to have been given away with other games/special editions after this. Seems certain branches of Game UK were just handing them out to people buying new Gamecube games. For a while they crept up in lots of second hand stores. I was happy just keeping one though- never understood people wanting multiple copies of rare games :\
