Given that 3D is subjective due to natural differences between eyes, it's possible the 3D effect isn't that strong for Berlin. It's also possibly a fault with the demo unit itself.

Is anyone really thrilled about the 3D effects? I think people are more excited about the game lineup and overall better hardware. This... pretty much. As it is, my DS gets more use than any of my consoles right now, the thought of a nicer DS is very exciting. Plus, even if the launch lineup is kind of underwhelming (let's be honest, it is), Nintendo has yet to let me down in the handheld department. Consoles have been hit or miss at times, but I've loved every Nintendo handheld I've had. And for me... the less like the old Kid Icarus, the better.

all those crappy Ubsioft start titles. It's not that impressive graphically, but I'm really looking forward to Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. It's a turn-based strategy game by Julian Gollop, who made X-COM, so it should be pretty good.

They should just put X-Com on 3ds. That'd sell ME a unit.

I just realized that Capcom seems to be the saving grace for the 3DS. Think about it: SF4, two RE games, MML3, Phoenix Wright; if it weren't for those games, I'd have pretty much no interest in the 3DS right now. So I guess you could say that I'm not so much excited about 3DS as I am excited about a lineup of Capcom games that happen to be on the 3DS.

What they said. Is anyone going to buy one out the gate, or are you going to wait for the inevitable "3ds Lite/Giant/Etc."? I'll do what I always do... get a launch system, then the revisions afterwards... I like the fact that I'll end up with 3 or 4 3DS's ... did the same with the last DS range; can set up massive multiplayer sessions that way The launch titles are ok, but I'm really looking forward to what's to come down the track. I'm kinda miffed that Dead or Alive won't be ready for launch, but I'm happy to wait for it - I LOVE me some DoA, and there's enough at launch to keep me busy. At any rate, I'll be happy to plow through the Rayman 2 port again. It was always a fantastic game, and I haven't played it in ages. I am excited for the 3D bit... more because it's interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing the effect myself... but being a DS, it's the games that will keep me coming back. Oh, and a new Ouendan would ROCK MY WORLD. Make it happen iNiS.

Sorry, but you've gotta have done something wrong. I've played two different demos of it and not only was the 3d effect fantastic and well on-par with SSFIV, but the controls were spot-on, allowing next to anybody to easily get the most possible points in both the jet pack and hangglider (was it a hangglider? Can't remember exactly) stages. Could be. Maybe I was playing an earlier build of the game or something.

An earlier build? When were you playing it? Ôo My first build was from July '10.

I was playing it in february, two weeks ago or so but I guess there's something going on here 'cause wherever I look - the opinions differ, and they differ well beyond the usual. Pilotwings was one of the worst looking games I've seen on the press event and... well? Have you seen the technical demo for MGS: Snake Eater? Was it loosing frames when the action was on with 3D slider to the max? Have you played DoA with 3D slider full on? Was it loosing frames and the animation got suddenly better after turning the 3D off? I guess I might have got an earlier builds or stuff, I don't really know though. I'm just searching for an explanation for those different opinions - ones saying that the Pilotwings is great and the 3D is stable and those I subscribe to: Pilotwings sucks along with its 3D effect. But with those controls - damn, man! I'm surprised. Couldn't get this jetpack to fly at all

I am hearing good reports of the online functionality of the 3DS, and that right there is a bigger selling point than 3D to me. I really hope they get that right as thats just the "innovation" the nintendo handheld needs right now. Wii's online functionality is pretty lack luster as well with the friend codes and the questionable support (cheaters in mario kart wii anyone?). If nintendo got the online working functionally better than the DS or the Wii this could really go somewhere.

Capcom seems to have saved Nintendo's bacon more than once in recent history. I think the GC would have died a lot sooner without all those great Capcom games. (And I love the GC)

Personally, I'm holding out for the NGP. The launch lineup for the 3DS honestly doesn't impress me, nor does the hardware. Same here. For me the 3DS is basically a 2-screen PSP with a camera and 3D effects. The NGP/PSP2, however... WOW

I just like the fact that the top screen has a decent resolution this time around.
Now, if someone can actually come out with a 3DS-specific cheating device, it could actually serve as a good emulation machine.

Someone already got their card working on 3ds.

Yeah, but that only works for DS games anyway; even on a DSi you can't run DSi enhancements with it.
