You have to understand, though. A teaser is in most cases, there to wholly represent the presence of a game. It's to let you know that Konami is working on a (new((rebooted)) Contra title. A lot of times teasers are made when a game isn't particularly ready for primetime viewing. Contra may not yet have a stable build, or at least a build that would be at all interesting to show prospective players.
also it's just contra it's not like they can add anything to revolutionize the franchise besides just making sure the level design and difficulty is tight

I know what a teaser is, you don't have to lecture me.
To me, game teasers are pointless. Just issue a press release announcing you're making the game and show game footage when you're ready. When Konami announced the last few Contra games during the past decade (Shattered, Neo, 4, and Uprising), they always showed footage of the games as well. Teasers are only something pretentious developers do.
And what makes you certain it will be another traditional Contra game anyway? For all we know, they might as well be pulling another Appaloosa.

I don't know what that last thing means, but if it means the next contra game is an open-world gritty western I'd like to play it.
I don't think teasers are something for 'pretentious' developers to do. Maybe Konami wants to start drumming up some hype for it before it's 'officially revealed' with gameplay and all that.

What's the big deal about achievements anyway? The only achievement I needed in MGS3 was getting the FOX-HOUND rank.

Silent Hill News Including Movie
NeverDead
Also, Gotham City Imposters sounds pretty awesome, a class-based first person shooter which puts into use Bat and Joker gadgets. The fact that it's made from the developers of FEAR and Condemned means it'll be a competent game, and it's even adapted from an actual comics storyline, though I don't think this game will have much in the form of story.

There's a difference between what I want and what I anticipate. I want a Castlevania / Silent Hill / Metal Gear / Suikoden game that doesn't suck. I anticipate the return of Samael before any of that ever happens. I miss Konami too. Me third. Can't wait to see in what generic Gears of War style TPS fashion (now with only QTE gameplay) they'll rape Contra with. *sigh* This said, I guess I might get the various HD collections, if only because they're just ports of older games and can't possibly suck.

Am I the only one severely bothered by Konami's offering this year? Just about every major series they have has been announced a high def 'collection.' I mean, I'm not necessarily opposed to upgraded rereleases but god damn if your entire catalog is going to be nothing but that that should be a signal that something is fucked up bad.
