What are Namco's heinous sins that I'm not aware of? Beautiful Katamari has half its levels locked away as on-disc DLC...and that's about all I can think of off-hand. I'm sure there's something else about Soul Calibur IV that I forgot, but I haven't really kept an eye on them since Katamari. I was thinking more of their keeping a good chunk of the Tales series (including most of the good games) in Japan. There's quite a lot of fan rage over it, although it's more at a slow simmer these days, compared to Capcom's recent misdeeds. Plus Namco's localizing Tales of Innocence Tales of Graces F so apparently all is forgiven.

Dare I repeat myself? FUCK CAPCOM. Ok, I'm outta this whole "rescue MML3"-thing. I've had enough. Legends 3 or Legeds 3, both are dead to me.

No love for Silent Hills 1-3? I enjoyed the first game for what it was, but I didn't like it enough to want to keep it. Same with Metal Gear Solid. In fact, I sold both of those together with Resident Evil 1-3 and Dino Crisis quite some time ago, when I was slimming down my PS1 collection. I never played Silent Hill 2 or 3, for the same reason I never played any RE game after Code Veronica. I was just done with survival horror as a whole.

My bad. I meant Tales of Graces F. I kind of stopped paying much attention to Tales quite a while ago.

So, show of hands of those who are completely surprised that Capcom did this yet again.

I thought that they'd at least let it get to the point where they ask fans to just get on their knees and beg. That way it'd be easier to kick them in the face.

I saw some numbers and what I heard soon after the cancellation, that Megaman is Capcom's second best-selling franchise, is a bit skewed. The number of sales of the whole franchise is stretched thin between dozens of titles in over 20 years. The last Megaman game to sell more than a million was in 2003 (one of the Battle Networks on the GBA I think). Legends was, sales-wise, one the less (if not the least) successful branches of the franchise - in fact, it was surprising that they resurrected it firsthand. Also, that Facebook group started incredibly strong but the rise of new fans decreased rapidly, and now it chugs to reach 40,000; some members say they have convinced friends to sign in, and I think some people did it not out of real interest for the game but of sympathy, I was tempted to put my "like" there too, in fact (and now, I hope some who say they'll *still* try to get MML3 back won't be deluding themselves). I can only conclude that, while surely solid and vocal, Megaman fans are not legion as they like to think.
Once again, I think it was a project doomed from the beginning. Inafune leaving a few weeks after the first announcements, the heavy fan involvement and all its handling, the conflicting voices coming from various sides within Capcom and, least but not least, the general situation of the 3DS. It should also be a lesson on how tight fan involvement is a double-edged sword (I'm thinking of opening a separate discussion about this).
Now I hope Capcom (or better, some people inside Capcom) won't also tease about Darkstalkers anymore.

I think Ono legitimately wants to do Darkstalkers. And with his recent high profile successful projects, he may have the clout to get it funded.

Ono's been asking for Darkstalkers since working on Street Fighter IV and MvC3. It's Capcom that refuses to let him work on it, because they don't have faith in it. It's not that surprising, I mean this is the same Capcom that didn't think have faith in Street Fighter IV. The devs back then had to fight for and look at it now. One of the best selling fighting games.

That's not to say he can't be a troll. Ono was caught with his foot in his mouth numerous times during the creation of MvC3. I wouldn't put it past him to change up somethings, but I think he truly wants to bring us Darkstalkers. Just maybe not exactly how we expected it. I hope he gets his chance to do an MK like storyline with this.

I just couldn't see a 3D Darkstalkers. Especially if it used the pseudo-cel shading of MvC3.

I don't remember where I heard this, but I heard that if there was a new Darkstalkers game made by Capcom, that it would still be in 2D.
