I hope it's not done like the HD version of SF2 online. That was sorta really fugly. I don't see why if SNK can continue to do highquality 2D animations Capcom is having so much trouble using them.

Street Fighter IV is technically 2D in terms of game system. It simply used polygonal graphics.

I just couldn't see a 3D Darkstalkers. Especially if it used the pseudo-cel shading of MvC3. At this point, I takes what I can gets.

Yeah. Siliconera just did an interview with Ono just recently. He mentions a couple things about Darkstalkers. I.... don't really agree with him on several counts. But I don't doubt he has a legitimate wish to resurrect some of Capcom's neglected series. Not sure if I'll approve of the results, but at least he's trying.

KOF XII is the same as Street Fighter IV, just with the 2D-esque animation painted on top. The reason Capcom didn't opt for a similar system is because it takes absolutely ages to draw. I mean, look how long it took SNK to come up with KOF XII. It's a beautiful game, no doubt. Pretty barren otherwise, especially compared to SFIV.

I could picture a Darkstalkers with 3-d graphics. Something like Street Fighter 4 I imagine, but hopefully with more manga/anime-like character designs and overall aesthetic.

I don't remember where I heard this, but I heard that if there was a new Darkstalkers game made by Capcom, that it would still be in 2D. I'd laugh my ass off if it still used the CPS2 sprites.

I signed up for the servbot thing, number....whatever What capcom has done so far with Legends 3 development is definitely a strange case but...we'll see what will come of it. Right now I don't like capcom, but I do want Legends 3. If only it weren't one of my most anticipated games ever I probably wouldn't bother and gladly proceed to ignore capcom.

Even thought they said "Darkstalkers is not dead!" I bet they mean "Darkstalkers characters on Street Fighter Vs Tekken!". Oh C(r)apcom... By the way, the new title of the thread is more accurate to the reality now. I'd laugh my ass off if it still used the CPS2 sprites. They made two new Megaman games with NES sprites for Wii/PS3/Xbox360, so why not a new Darkstalkers game with CPS2 sprites? And with retro american-style cover please. ;D
