I still have an original XBox (modified, with upgraded hard disk and custom firmware) that nobody wants to buy from me

I'd have to agree on that one. The original Xbox had a few decent exclusives, but not enough to warrant its existence. Jet Set Radio Future says hello. Also Panzer Dragoon Orta. And Shenmue 2.

Beside its good library (not exceptional like the PS2, but still solid), I think the Xbox is an important console for two reasons. First, it entered the console market just a few months after Sega left it, filling a gap that, otherwise, would have left space to an almost-monopoly of Sony, and estabilished a good foothold for the 360. Secondly, it showed that a strong gaming system could be produced in the West too. In 1996, when both the Jaguar and the 3DO ceased production, I read bleak comments about the "shattered dreams" of successful western consoles - back then, there was some perception that, since the 1983 NA videogame crash which paved the way for Nintendo, Japan would have dominated that market forever. Obviously, the "brute force" of money and marketing has been another factor but, after all, that was what helped Sony too.

Xbox had some great exclusives. I had one at the time and didn't regret purchasing it. It was a very solid system and the controller (especially the smaller redesign) was leagues better than the DualShock, which I have always found to have weak analog sticks and a generally flimsy feel. It was also nice to always get the best versions of multiplatform releases.
Ninja Gaiden Black Still technically an exclusive!
Otogi, Otogi 2 Awesome action games from From Soft. They should remaster these for the PS3 so I can play them again.
Crimson Sea Fantastic scifi action game from KOEI. This game was ridiculously good looking with an absolutely insane number of enemies on screen at once. Watching a wave of insect-like aliens swarming towards you was mindblowing.

I still have an original XBox (modified, with upgraded hard disk and custom firmware) that nobody wants to buy from me How much? It comes with all the leads, one joypad, and as stated, it contains a 90Gb hard disk with a couple of games on it (Soul Calibur II, Dead Or Alive, Quake (homebrew)) etc. How much do you offer? I think I need to warn you, I'm from Belgium, so there may be additional shipping costs.

JSRF really sucked in comparison to the original. The new art style was just abysmal, and while it was nice to not have to worry about time limits anymore, the levels themselves were just too big. I never had the chance to play Orta, though. I did enjoy Shenmue II, but you could get it playing on an American DC with an imported European copy with a very limited amount of work, so I wouldn't really call that system seller. Just my opinion, though.

Whilst I LOVED the first JSR, it's difficulty spikes really put a dampener on it for me on occasion. I much preferred the second games difficulty level. Also, the controls felt a lot tighter, and I was actually a fan of the Auto-tagging. Also you mentioned the time limits... I hated that about the first game. But yeah, everybody's different

The soundtrack to the first one was definitely better, too. Who are you? What's your name? Supah Bruzzah!
Goddamn, Sega needs to get off their asses and put that game on XBL.

I agree... the game does need a Live Arcade release. The same could be said of many, many Dreamcast games. I'd KILL for an XBLA release of San Francisco Rush 2049... But ahem... back on topic

Do you have a version of MAME installed on it or can that easily be done? I got someone's Dreamcast + VMU + Controller + 2 games with cases and manuals for 30 EUR last year, so my perspective is rather coloured. How does 50 EUR sound to you?

Is 30 Euro for such a DC pak considered a great price nowadays? I'd consider it pretty standard, to be true. (depends on what the 2 games are, to some exctent, of course)

Acceptible, if you add the shipping. I haven't got MAME installed, but it's quite easy to connect the thing to a LAN and use FTP to put stuff on it (also makes for a nice xvid/avi player) Maybe we can arrange the details through PM.
