Found a similar thread over at Digital Press to be comedy gold, so thought I'd start one here. Here's Spiderman: Web of Fire to kick it off:
You have to wait until he starts the actual gameplay.

MY EARS!!! The keyboard was pretty cool solo, but whatever that other noise is... it hurts to listen. Sounds like somebody is beating the crap out of a keyboard with a Guitar. I'm not sure if i'll be able to top that. Nothing comes to mind right off the bat. I'll get back to you after i take a look at my childhood.

This has got to be just some bad sound emulation, right? Gotta be...

Man, and I thought Spider-Man: The Animated Series on the Genesis had the worst music ever (seriously, the intro music to that game is as painfully sounding as Web of Fire)

This has got to be just some bad sound emulation, right? Gotta be... Considering how accurate the sound is on other 32X games (at least on Gens)... I kinda doubt it.

Anyone remember Dark Castle for the Sega Genesis? It has just one track, and it's the most cliched horror music they could think of.

I didn't knew about this game until I saw AVGN's review recently: www.gametrailers.com/video/angry-video-screwattack/721808And boy, it's a really pain in the ears indeed.

OH GOD WHY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY I did know about the Spinball options music (FUN FACT: since the GBA version of Spinball on Sega Smash Pack lacks every other track except the theme and Toxic Caves the options screen thankfully is silent), but that JSRF song... what. Seriously, what the shit was that?! That voice is fucking ANNOYING GODDAMMIT! And that song got one YT channel (Renegade466isback's original channel) closed! I think it was because of some copyright issues or something, but still! It got closed because of THAT SONG! Is it some sort of coincidence that all songs posted so far in this thread are from games published by Sega?

Sega didn't publish Dark Castle.
Also, I just found out that it originated in 1986 as a Mac game. Supposedly, it was pretty good for the time, but it was the Genesis version that was beyond awful.

It's funny how most of the selections in this topic are from Genesis + add-on games

It's funny how most of the selections in this topic are from Genesis + add-on games Which bothers me when there's a lot of good music on the system (if you like FM Synthesis). Unfortunately, most people don't. They like the SPC chip a lot better, never mind the SNES had that annoying "SNES Horn" sound.

No wonder why. I remember for almost every game which got released for both SNES and Genesis the SNES version was always inferior in sound aspect and Genesis version usually sounded very high-pitched or sqeaky.
Take Lion King for example:
Or Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3:
See? The difference is huge. Good things there were games like Street of Rage which would make good use of the sound chip of Genesis and produce nice soundtracks.

I was once in the bathroom with a stomach virus while my little brother in the next room had left the Dreamcast idle on at the MvC2 character select screen.
At about the 15-minute mark I started audibly screaming.

vetus, it seems that usually, the only time Genesis music is good is when the game was designed with the Genesis hardware in mind (like virtually all of the Sega-produced games on that system for example).
