This is the worst game music ;D Repetitive, hellish crap. But what's really horrifying is that title screen.

Just like everyone knows, Taito has developed and published many great shmups. So how comes they published a shmup which is so painful for the ears?
It's the worst thing I've ever heard in a shmup.
The NES is less painful for the ears but still shitty enough to give you the impression that you play an Action 52 game:

I found out about Guardian Storm at Arcade Otaku: wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/Guardian_StormLooked interesting so I decided to check it out. But after playing for 5 minutes at the first stage I chose to exit. Not because the game was bad but because the music was incredibly annoying:

The Technictix/Technic Beat Soundtrack.
Less than half are good. (Fake World - Maniax, Happy Happy, Days Dreamer and maybe Segment4 if you can get into it, for example.) Then you listen to the other half and you instantly regret liking the others. Which is sad, considering that Arika usually has some pretty solid soundtracks - Street Fighter EX 2 is still one of my favorites.
Plus, they're all for a pretty broken rhythm game, as you can hit the notes slightly off timing and still get a perfect. This doesn't sound like a problem in something like DDR, but the music only plays if you hit the notes. So, if you play them even a tiny bit off timing, it sounds horrible.

I really dislike the remixed soundtrack for all versions of Mega Man X3 aside from the original Super NES game. For comparison, the SNES soundtrack versus the remixed soundtrack: I actually much prefer that rearranged version to the original. Totally different vibe for sure, but I personally hate the obsession with metal in VGM and wish things were funkier generally. Not too happy about the change of tone in some of the tracks, but Blizzard Buffalo has some seriously sour notes in the SNES version. The remixed one sounds leagues better and is a genuinely fantastic tune. However, the lighter sound doesn't work AT ALL for tracks like the opening stage. So it's a mixed bag for me.

I think we have a new contender: one of(?) the Chocobo themes from Final Fantasy XIII-2 At least that's recognizably the chocobo theme. Final Fantasy X-2 couldn't even manage that. Sounds like a jalopy driving down the road. With Fat Albert in it. I especially like the random woman saying, "ai ja jai gajooga joe!" EDIT: Ha. Thought I was getting deja vu here, and confirmed that yes, I HAVE already posted this here -- and even made a similar comment! But that link is broken, so I'm posting it again. Because seriously... this is a terrible, terrible track. -Tom

Necroposting because nobody mentioned Xevious. Wasn't Xevious'song like that because of hardware limitations? Still annoying as fuck, though.

Burning Rangers japanese vocal opening is uber awesome and one of my favourite videogames openings. From the other hand, the english version makes me want to find the vocalist and smash him down with a guitar a la Furi Kuri: No. Just NO. I love this version. A lot

Chrono Cross's battle theme. Where as "The Brink of Death" is a great battle theme. Especially the version with the chanting.

Ground Scaravich stage:
Seriously, this looks nothing like a Megaman track, and this gives me serious headaches.
