I'd also post the battle music from P4 but I just know some of you guys don't mind it. I actually like the battle music of P4. And while I haven't heard anything of it's music (and can't at the moment), I don't think that it's so bad that it will put me off the game (which I plan to get as soon as possible). P4 actually has some of the best VGM I've ever heard. Can't please everyone i guess.

just about anything from slaughter sport, mainly because the bars (i think that's what you call them?) are very simple things to play, but you can hear them still desperately try to keep up with their own tempo. guano's theme is a prime example of this and while it's hardly the worst game music ever, i never liked arc-sys's fighting games soundtracks. ever.

I really dislike the remixed soundtrack for all versions of Mega Man X3 aside from the original Super NES game. For comparison, the SNES soundtrack versus the remixed soundtrack:
The original soundtrack had this really great metal sound to it, whereas the remixed soundtrack saps all of the power and energy out of the music. It sounds like it's from an entirely different game, and had none of the atmosphere that the original soundtrack offered. It's one of my least favorite things I've heard in all of gaming, and I hold dearly onto my Super NES cartridge so that I'll still be able to play the original version for as long as I can.

Listening to USA's national anthem on Double Dribble is like listening to a drunken robot having orgasm with a synthesizer: I think we have a new contender: one of(?) the Chocobo themes from Final Fantasy XIII-2 Wow! Chocobos on steroids! Or being really stoned, whatever. I'll agree that this song doesn't fit the game but I'll have to admit that I like it as a remix. Why are you looking me like that? And for the next FF game I want from SquareEnix to include this song: I love this song even if I'm not Final Fantasy fan (maybe because I'm Hyadain fan and Chocobo theme song is so catchy).

I was going to say that the thread can be closed after this one:
...but that chocobo song is BAD. And I don't mean like the Power Glove.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again, this is the worst piece of video game music ever:
Other video game music might be worse on a level of composition or instruments/sound card used, but in terms of the sheer level of comparative awesome with the rest of the soundtrack, the amount of time you'll spend hearing this shit music considering how often you fight in CC and how long fights tend to last, this song really is the worst thing about CC. And it doesn't make sense because the rest of the soundtrack is so amazing. It's like Mitsuda finished composing for CC, then about a month later, the producers roused him out of bed and said, "Hey, this soundtrack's great, but you forgot to make a battle theme." To which he replied, "Ugh. Okay." and then groggily composed something made entirely of farts and violin over the next five minutes and sent it in in time for the game to go gold.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ace Attorney series' soundtracks (especially that awesome Pursuit from Investigations)... but am I the only one to think this track simply sucks major ass? I seriously want to cry whenever I hear it.

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but this always comes to mind whenever the phrase "worst video game music" comes up. I've heard worse overall, don't get me wrong... but just... the fact that they did THAT to Uematsu's classic chocobo theme makes a decidedly VERY BAD SONG significantly worse. Makes me imagine Fat Albert driving around VERY SLOWLY in a nearly-dead jalopy. -Tom

This song seems out of place because Mitsuda didn't compose it for Chrono Cross. It was made a few years earlier for the Radical Dreamers game.

As much as I loved playing Wild Arms Alter Code: F, I personally never liked this song:
It's pretty weak compared to how awesome and catchy Zed's theme song was in the original Wild Arms. In fact, it's downright boring to listen to.

I really dislike the remixed soundtrack for all versions of Mega Man X3 aside from the original Super NES game. For comparison, the SNES soundtrack versus the remixed soundtrack: I actually much prefer that rearranged version to the original. Totally different vibe for sure, but I personally hate the obsession with metal in VGM and wish things were funkier generally.
