Medal of Honor Underground, I see a lot of potential in the idea of playing as a French woman who joins the Paris resistance before being recruited into the OSS and there's a lot of cool and exotic scenarios that the PS1 wasn't quite able to fully bring to life, including infiltrating Wewelsburg Castle.
And on a similar note a remake of the original Castle Wolfenstein, not Wolfenstein 3D but the actual original stealth title.
While I like what Machine Games has done with the series a lot I see potential in taking it back to it's roots and making a stealth game, not an FPS and maybe with no supernatural elements either.
There's just a lot of potential in a stealth game about infiltrating a Nazi castle and I'm surprised no one's really tackled that idea with modern technology.

Darklands. Less bugs and glitches and less quests that are impossible to complete would make this game so much more enjoyable.

I would remake Shenmue, but only to replace most of the QTEs with real fights. It has a great battle system it almost never uses, and I hate goddamn QTEs. Other than that, I don't see the point in remaking games, really. but some QTE's aren't from fights! also, i'd miss the FREE aspect, haha

That's why I said most. Definitely remove that part in 2 where you have to walk on series of planks and Ryo keeps doing his best to fall off. I hated that part so much.

Wow, this thread is over a decade old now.
- So, to begin, I'd remake System Sh... oh wait, they are doing that! And I hope System Shock 2 will follow eventually. The same could be done for Ultima Underworld (there is an effective project but I've heard nothing about it lately). - The original Deus Ex adapted to a style close to the more recent prequels, and also adding effective story branches, like staying loyal to UNATCO, and some ideas and locations that were cut from the original - White House, Austin, moon base... could be visited thanks to those story branches, while you could still play the game with the exact some plot and locations. - I can say Xenonauts has already filled the role but I'd like an effective remake of the 1994 X-Com, either in full 3D or hi-res 2D. - Chrono Trigger with a Dragon Ball FighterZ level cel shading (coincidentally, another game with character by Akira Toriyama), high-level stuff, not the cheap-looking 3D that the upcoming Secret of Mana remake looks to have. A Chrono Cross remake would follow. - Albion, with much less grinding but still the same compelling world. Bioware during their finer years would be a good fit. - Snatcher made into an action/RPG in the vein of Deus Ex, one main story but several branches and sidequests, some stuff may be lifted from SD Snatcher. - Even if they are recent, I sometimes wonder how the two Castlevania - The Lecarde Chronicles may have been if made with the money and resources of Konami back when they still cared. - Lost Valley, the older Golvellius clone by the same author of the above, with wholly original graphics, expanded gameplay and better boss fights, the ironing of all small the small things that worked badly in the original, but the same maps more or less (and overworld made up of 1200 screens and several dungeons). - Just for fun: Joymasher's Oniken and Odallus remade as games from the 16 bit era! - Amnesia: The Dark Descent remade with more recent technology and higher visual variety. - Anachronox's quirky world would benefit immensely from the current technology, complete with the follow-up that never came to fruition. - Apogee's Monster Bash in VGA... which was a canned project. And with some tighter level design. - Blood. Same gameplay and setpieces (like the train in the first episode) but in Unreal Engine 4. - No One Lives Forever 1 and 2, too, with a chance to get the stealth of the first episode work correctly. Also, in the remake of the second episode, add a recurring enemy in John Jack, only to have him killed and so erase the chance of Contract J.A.C.K. ever happening, making way for NOLF 3... and then I woke up. - Cryostasis with a truly good engine, even better snow and ice effects, and some adjustments to the handling and feeling of the weapons. The rest doesn't need to be changed. - Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, with every frustrating passage of the original made better. - Daikatana, transformed into a good game!... No, eh?

These are all goods picks, Blood would be a GREAT choice to reboot/remake in the vein of Doom 2016 and the Rise of The Triad reboot. No One Lives Forever would be also be a great choice for a revival and I like your Deus Ex remake idea.

I can also share a walkthrough I wrote years ago if needed.

Warcraft II with higher res, and updated interface and AI would be awesome. With easier spellcasting and some tweaks, humans wouldn't be at a disadvantage unless you were amazing at micro. It could also include the War1 campaign in the new engine. Doubt it'll happen though considering Starcraft HD changed nothing about the gameplay.

MediEvil! I miss that kind of comedic horror games, plus they could also make a jab on how zombies are way over-used now in popular culture, but just as cannon fodder and not protagonists. Also, stuff from the mid-late 90s is making a comeback, so why not? Guess they somewhat heard me: www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-12-09-sony-resurrects-medievil-for-ps4

Phantasy Star III, definitely. The game has cool ideas and I love the setting, but the execution is off. I'd love to see it remade with the level of polish seen in IV.

Damn, that's a tough one, however, i'll go with Virtual Boy: Wario Land (The last Wario game Gunpei Yokoi worked on). The game has so many secrets and its such a good blast to play through. So much so that i hold the record for the fastest time on the game at Planet Virtual Boy (yeah, shameless plug-in i know XD) But on a more serious note, Virtual Boy: Wario Land is really a great game, one of the best that appeared on the system and seeing a colorized remake for either the 3DS (preferably) or the Switch would be really cool, since this would give the game more exposure. That and we need a new Wario Land game damn it! WarioWare is all good and dandy but i love me some Wario platforming goodness personally

I finished Virtual Boy Wario Land for the first time a couple months back, can confirm it's great fun. I was going to replay it and find all the treasures, but it seems like something's wrong with my Virtual Boy, so it'll have to wait. For some reason the right eye's image is garbled now.
