Any reason why they couldn't just delay the release by a month or two so they could fix the bugs? I thought the whole point of Early Access was to not really sell the game until its finished and its not like they have a publisher demanding for it.

Personally, I don't care too much; it's not like this isn't following a precedent set by several other CRPGs, and eventually it'll get patched into a better state. Even as it is, I've generally been having a lot of fun with this game (though, with the caveat that I haven't reached the second half yet).

Well, I feel kind of silly about my previous post now. For some reason the game is now incredibly slow, with a painfully low sub-Goldeneye level framerate, and nothing I do seems to be helping. This happened once or twice in the past couple days, but it seemed to be fixed when I restarted my computer. Now though, nothing is helping. I've tried verifying the game's integrity via Steam, I (backed up and) deleted a bunch of old saves that were in my save folder, I went to the Nvidia control panel to make sure Wasteland 2 was being read with my graphics card's GPU, and nothing seems to be helping. In the intro movies and menus, everything is silky smooth as usual, but in the actual game, it's painfully slow as shit, regardless of what save I load or what area I'm in. When I enter the pause menu my mouse starts moving really smoothly and the menu functions like normal, but everything in the actual game part is too slow to deal with. I don't know how to fix this.

I managed to fix the issue; I completely uninstalled the game, restarted my computer, then reinstalled it, and now the game works fine again. I did notice that the game in general ran a little slower after the first patch; I imagine doing a clean install of the game helped ensure that the game ran as stable as possible. I'm proceeding through the Prison right now; I really want to know how to save Anna! Long before Wasteland 2's release, the one bit of gameplay I did watch was from the Prison, which showed the player shooting Anna to put her out of her misery, only to find her husband approaching, now angry that his wife had been shot, and going aggro on the Rangers. Since I know that's what will happen upon shooting her, I wanted to see if I could do something else to really help her. Nothing I tried had any effect though; Ralphy's extra-strength pain relievers don't do anything, and none of my rangers' surgeon or field medic skills can be used on her. It's kind of irritating; I wonder if killing her is really the only thing that can be done. .

I think someone mentioned on another forum that you should come across her husband on another map but I haven't seen him yet. I also recommend you pay Overbake the weapon tax instead of killing him. I think I screwed up getting into the prison because I decided to slaughter all of the raiders.

Hmm, hopefully she doesn't die before I find her husband I already killed Overbake I've been mostly killing people since then; is it really that essential to be on their good side? I kind of suspected that if I paid him, I might have to keep on paying their shitty taxes as I proceeded into the prison .

Regarding entering the prision: Your main objective on your first visit is to find someone with information about where you can get some good quality rad suits. Though there are a few other small subquests to complete and a bit of foreshadowing, there is no way to access the main prison area and "finish" the zone until after you come back from Damonta.

Hmm... I'm wondering if I should reload and pay the fee in that case. Oh well; I suppose I could just save that for a second playthrough of the game

The prison is kind of a shoddily designed area, as later on you have the option to make peace with or wipe out the Red Skorpions regardless of your behavior on the first visit. On top of that, all the civilians will be killed in the end no matter what you do. So whether you take a peaceful or aggressive approach to the area ultimately makes absolutely no difference whatsoever.

I was never able to find Pitbull for some reason. I just completed the prison and now I'm trying to decide how to resolve the canyon. I wasn't happy with the initial outcome (chaos).

I wasn't happy with the initial outcome (chaos). Pitbull can be found in Rail Nomads, via following a quest line given by one of the rangers in Ranger Citadel (the one who is trying to sell shoddy second-hand weapons) . EDIT: Agh! (spoiler regarding how to proceed after the Prison) I took Rick Baychowski into custody so that he could lead me to some rad suits in his RV. When I got there, I decided to set him free, stupidly. Immediately afterward, I got a call from Ranger Citadel asking me where he was. At first I lied and said I'd return him soon, but then I reloaded and said he escaped. Then they said they weren't done questioning him yet and wanted to sit down to have a chat with me when I get back. I'm tempted to reload and not free Rick, but I don't know what I'll do yet

New patch is out!More info at the link. I'm especially happy about the memory optimizations; they should help me when playing the game in the future. I haven't played Wasteland 2 for a week or so though, since I got caught up in reading through Questionable Content's archives I'll probably start playing again when I catch up to the most recent strip.

I finally started playing the game again; I decided to continue ahead with the decision I had made, despite the consequences that came about as a result from it. Ultimately, I think accepting my mistakes will make the game more interesting, and keep me from attempting to min-max everything (which usually quickly kills my interest in a game, I find).
Most of all though, I am very pleased with how smoothly the game runs now! It feels like it's mostly running at 60fps now, whereas even before I started having the low framerate issues a couple weeks ago, the game would usually be kind of choppy at times, and definitely was never smooth, despite the relatively simple graphics. Even just the simple act of moving around is much more pleasurable now, thanks to the optimizations this most recent patch introduced. Woo!

Ugh! I'm in the Canyon of Titan right now, and this stupid monk's blast literally incinerated all of my party's clothes D: It makes sense, and it's kind of amusing, but it's also a pain since I liked their clohtes. I'll have to get some new ones soon. I'm tempted to reload, but I think I'll just stick with this, since it keeps the game more interesting to live with an outcome like this.

...Is anyone aside from me still playing this game? I think I'm pretty much done with the first half of the game. Right now I've got a ton of loot to sell, and am trying to decide what new weapons to equip my Rangers with, if any. Does anyone have any opinion on whether the M16 or the AK-47 is better? Their stats are so similar, but there are a couple key differences. I have a fuckton of 5.56mm ammo stored up, so I don't expect to ever run out of that; plus it seems to be less expensive than the 7.62mm ammo that the AK-47 uses. The M16 also has a more consistent damage range, from the late 30s to the late 40s per hit, whereas the AK47's damage range is from 30 to 50, which seems like on average it would end up doing less damage per shot. However, the AK47 also has a damage threshold of 5, which is an improvement over the 4 damage threshold of the M16. Ugh, I can't decide which to use! Also since none of my characters use an SMG thus far, I'm considering teaching the SMG skill to (Damonta partner spoiler) Lex , so that they have something to do other than just brawling/explosives. Also, another question; when I make the transition to the second part of the game, will I still be able to access ammo and other items that I've stored in the Ranger Citadel locker? This would help me a lot with regard to planning out my new equipment loadout.
