Very nice! I might be able to get through them. Thanks. Anyone ever hear of or play the PC Engine game, Dead Of The Brain?

I've played the PC98 version a while ago. It was fun, with scenes packed with zombies and gore. The nudity is slightly censored in the PC-Engine version though (no nipples!), but it's the only version with voice acting. I thought the first game was better, although the sequel does have far superior zombie conversations

So, I tried run Zaphie 2 after mounting with Daemon tools and i keep getting error messages. So i went online and did some digging about and managed to find some shakily translated Korean detailing the 2 downloads over on 4 shared. "And so you see the following description, congratulations to you, victory is in sight. ISO Demo (provided by TG) SeNaTe, upped by Scaryfun) No-CD 372kb (made by Delacroix) - 1 CD image is a game, two free CD patch. [Note: The resource is stored in 4shared, each resource wait 20 seconds, you can open multiple pages while waiting for my colleagues and download ...... if 4shared page open, you can try "Laoshandaoshi" or "Jiong Jiong on behalf of reason" approach ...... slightly ......] game image file name is -. Zaphie2 part01 ~ Zaphie2.part15 (volume compression) free CD patch file name is - dcx-z2nd Well, scrawl point - boy, bring wisdom and patience to delve into it ...... Have Fun!!! [This swallow is also very tragic ......]" So i tried the 2nd download which is like 1000kb or something.dcx- whatever. That 2nd download appears to be some sort of patch, i pasted it into the folder where i was launching Zaphie and if i use that shortcut i can run the game with no error.^ Up there it says something about a CD Patch, does that maybe mean that the dcx download is a way to launch without the disc? because on the site its called Zaphie 2 - No Disc.
I love the look of Dead Of The Brain, do you know where i could find a translation patch? every version i seem to find is in japanese.
EDIT - Just un-mounted Zaphie in Daemon Tools and the game works fine if i launch from the 2nd download. So yeah, that second download lets you play without mounting it.

As far as I'm aware, despite being unique, cool and weird Dead of the Brain has not been translated, either game on any system. A shame since it has Re-Animator and Of the Dead references in it.

Ah. I'll try and get through it in japanese so. Catalyst, whenever I get to the bit in zaphie 2 where you collapse, my screen blacks out. I can hear the woman talking and then the screen comes back after the cutscene is over, any ideas?

I found a solution to it, i just had to force it into 640 x 480 in properties. That chinese is site is a very good find! I'll try to play Zaphie 1 too. The download of Zaphie 2 on that site seems to be the same size as the original download you found.
Edit : Whats white day a tragedy in the ghost school? Edit again. The Whiteday downloads don't work.

White Day is a Korean clocktower-type survival horror game where you play as a student running away from some murderous psycho in a school at night. It has an english patch about a year ago but my friend says it's just a partial translation. Still I don't believe it's impossible to beat. There was a thread about it here on the board some time back I believe. www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-lSgn7SOUk

Oh I know what white day is. I've cleared it with the english translation. I played it under the title, "Whiteday A labyrinth named school" not "Tragedy in the ghost school" . I thought that might be a different game entirely. I remember thinking the guys in frictional must have played it before making amnesia and penumbra. It has similar physics for opening doors etc. The translation is far from partial though, Theres maybe 5 minutes of untranslated dialogue, everything else is fine. You should try it, it's great and theres multiple endings. The murderous psycho (The Janitor) is scary at first but becomes annoying after a while. The real scares are the supernatural ones.

I've been holding off on for a while, might give it a try some time soon. I managed to download all the Zaphie files after a bit of work. Will probably try them out in awhile as well as upload them somewhere else that isn't nearly as much of a hassle to use.

Nice. I'm going to run through Zaphie 2. I'll record it and see how far i can get. I can't seem to go anywhere after i get to the cabin. Btw, do you know how to save the game?

After the lengthy prologue your supposed to begin encounter special discs. They're one time uses like the ink ribbons in Resi Evil. I don't know where you use them, but I'd assume some type of PC.
