I'm taking thurs and friday off that weekend, so I'll have 4 days to cry. I preordered from amazon, and the delivery date is estimated at two days after release, here's hoping it gets here earlier than that

Dark Souls 3 arrived the day before yesterday and I really like the game so far. Currently, I am lvl 30. I can't try online mode, which is okay, because the official release is 13. april. I really like the details at some buildings, enemies and trees. My only complain is that the boss battles are kinda easy and a bit repetitive, because of the attack patterns, but who knows, maybe it will get more difficult.
Yours sincerely

Less than 24 hours to go before it unlocks on Steam. The wait is almost over!

Damn it! I'm getting my copy tomorrow, but I have a ton of things to do this week. Plus, my significant other won't be in town next weekend so it has been heavily suggested that it's *THAT* weekend, not this one, that would be the appropriate moment to start binge playing Dark Souls 3.
Ugh, can you guys believe this?

If you have trouble to farm covenants items (regarding Watchdogs of Farron), then I would recommend to be lvl (20-31). Otherwise it would be very hard to find opponents.

So far, Dark Souls 3 has been like a compilation of all the best ideas in the franchise, except tweaked to be fresh and interesting rather than just feeling slapped together the way Dark Souls 2 so often did. The level design has been utterly spectacular so far in general, both on the scale of the world as a whole, and in terms of individual areas. There's even an area that takes heavy inspiration from a certain level in Demon's Souls. Seeing the concept make another appearance is great!
I'm liking the weapon skill system as well. Gives a nice bit of extra depth for those of us who prefer to shun magic and focus entirely on close combat.

So, for a Dark Souls noob where would you recommend I start? Should I go all the way back to the fist game on PS3? (did they patch the PC port to at least run in 1080p?), the "Prepare to Die" edition of 2 or just start with 3?
Obviously 3 is what intrigues me the most because of those next gen graffix.

Demon Souls it is the least starter friendly game cause dont allows you to level up until you beat the first area. But it is the starting point and totally awesome, specially because most bosses are based around gimmicks and not just combat.
Whatever you do I recomend you two things: The safest easiest way to stroll through a DS game it is the combo of shield and spear, you get the range, good attack, focuses attacks that works in closed areas and very good defense. The combination have been nerfed with each passing game but it still better to equip the heaviest metal slab you can found and go in undies than in full armour, most enemies get stunned when attacking a heavy shield creating very good openings. In DS2 they also introduced lances also gives you a whoopass of damage at the cost of recovering that it is an non-issue since you can stunlock enemies.
The rapier family it is also goood for same reasons but the lack of range it is annoying.
If you decide to ditch the shield for whatever reason halberds are your friends, pick one with a focused normal attack and a sweeping heavy or the opposite. The black knight halberd in DS1 it is love the two handed attack was a running attack with an overhead that killed things at good ranges.
Whatever you do, avoid playing bloodborne before DeS,DS1 or DS2, it makes them sluggish and almost unplayable.

I suggest playing BB first.

I suggest playing BB first. Ok, I'm thinking DS2: Prepare to Die edition, BB and then DS3, sounds like a plan?

My two cents, play Dark Souls 1. From what I've read(someone here can confirm/deny this), there were changes made in DS 2 that have been reverted back to how DS1 works. In DS2 enemies stop respawning after you kill them 15 times while in DS1 they respawn infinitely. DS1 has an interconnected world while DS2 has more of a central hub. Item creation is more in depth in DS1. And bonfires work differently between the two. I prefer DS1, but DS2 is still a great game that should be played.
As for BB, it's a fantastic game. One of my favorites, but is very much removed from the souls games. Play it on its own with no comparison to DS. Different mechanics and structure.
