How many of you guys have beat the game already?! That was pretty fucking fast. Wait. Déjà vu...
I didn't even know DS3 was out already. I'm so out of the loop. I'll come back next year when I actually have the game.
Edit: Is there purple moss in this game? (:

Both purple and blooming purple moss make their return . On another note (extreme spoiler warning): I love how they even brought the visceral attacks over from Bloodborne.

Finished it already.
I love how they have finally nailed dual wielding in this.
It is funny how dual wielding always have been crappy on DeS games. In DeS and DS it was almost pointless with almost no benefit (except that in DeS you could stunlock people to death).
In DS they introduced power stances, that while was cool in paper as an universal system, it was hindered by requiring huge stats and consuming way to much stamina. Also there was too few combinations and you needed twice the upgrade materials... also dual attacks often spend more stamina and dealt less damage that just using a weapon two handed.
Now in DS3 you get weapons made for dual wielding that often have their own moveset and special moves, you no longer have to find twice the materials. The only thing is that I have not found any way to use elemental buffs on those weapons, that is a shame because it would make them more practical. They also included a right for extra damage when using multi-hit weapons, so someone with flynns, that extra damage on full hp, this right and the boosted roll ring are downright lethal.

Weapons with built-in elemental damage (such as the Dancer's Enchanted Swords) cannot be buffed, nor can weapons that have been infused with elemental damage at the blacksmith.

Beat it too! At first, I thought the game was merely good, but things really pick up and the later parts are spectacular. The action is just spot on, by the way.
This might be the best Soulsborne yet!

I've finished it too, I liked it a lot but it's my least favourite Dark Souls (I haven't played Demon's Souls or Bloodborne). I'm really bad at dodging, I found the faster enemies with lengthy combos a bit overwhelming at times, and trying to use a heavy weapon or play as a caster seemed like a death sentence when fast weapons were far more effective. Still a great game, but I preferred the slower pace of the previous two.

For my part, I really enjoy just how aggressive and varied the movesets of the knight enemies are. Those guys are the best enemies, hands down. It's a shame they're pretty weak to you charging up a strong attack and them charging straight into it. Heck, almost every enemy in the game is weak to that.
On another subject, the Platinum trophy is really a bitch to get, maybe the most tedious yet in the Soulsborne series. Looks like you're forced to participate in all covenants and max most of them (30 items/ successful invasions). Game just lost a point in my book.

Platinum was rather easy and I could help with the grinding. I can offer my help, if you really want the platinum.
You don't need 30 invasions for Rosaria. You only need 10 invasions. I would be glad to be a victim^^, but I can only help on Friday and Saturday (afternoon and evening), because of my schedule.
Besides, if you have Symbol of Avarion (treasure hat) and rusty coins (which can be bought from Patches for a low price), you can farm the covenant items very fast. I got 13 covenants for the Blades of the Darkmoon during 2 hours playtime. Your luck thingy should be approximately 400. If you offer pale tongues, you can change your stats, but I would only recommend that, if you are done with your 3 playthroughs, because changing your stats is limited.
Regarding mound makers covenants, put your purple sign after the Sylivahn boss fight. You will be summoned after 2-3 minutes or I help you with it. If I don't fight, we could get for you 30 pieces of mound makers covenant in 1 hour.
If you are high lvl, then Farrons Keeps covenant will be complicated, because it is a low lvl covenant. I agree with you on this covenant. The covenant is awesome, if you want to be Jason Vorhees and you want to kill new players. This is the real problem with the covenant. We need to try, but I don't know if you can always invade me. Otherwise I would recommend to do the farming method
I can't help you with the sunlight covenant, but a lot of people need help with the dragon king. If you put your sign there, you can get 30 medals in 3-6 hours.
If you need someone for getting covenant items(for example rings), I could help, but I live in Middle-Europe. I don't know if the servers are separated. My lvl is approximately 145-160. Some people say it is possible to transfer items. I don't know how, but I will do it for free, if the possibility exist.
Don't forget, you can find covenant items. 2 for Blades of the darkmoon, 3 pale tongues, 3 farron covenants. You need to do at least 3 playthroughs, which means: 6, 9, 9
Yours sincerely
Jack Caeylin

Thanks, that's a very generous offer and any help would be appreciated. NG++ doesn't bother me, it's being forced to do the covenants that does. My PSN ID is "Garamoth". Not sure our times will coincide, but it's worth a try! Anyone else wants to partake in jolly cooperation? okay, I already sent a friendship question (don't know the official right english term from Playstation^^), if you have already a plan, just say/write Yours sincerely Jack Caeylin

Y'know this thread seems a lot less active than the one about DSII was on its release. Fewer fans?

Y'know this thread seems a lot less active than the one about DSII was on its release. Fewer fans? Sure, no problem, I can do that today(even now^^ just say it, I am free [for 60 minutes - 150 minutes]) or tomorrow afternoon/evening in the middle european time. Just say the ingame location and how to transfer items, because I really don't know. At worst case I can even help on Sunday, but only for a limited time in the evening. I don't know anything about the DSII thread ( I am kinda new in this board, just a junior member^^), but I think this board has lost some members early 2016 and 2015, if I compare with earlier threads in the first three pages. Edit: Keep in mind that my lvl is 165. I think lvl is important, if you want to meet someone. You don't have to rush anything. We can even do that next Friday or Saturday. Yours sincerely Jack Caeylin

Well, members come and go. Hollows gather and start ganking. ;D I fear I really need to lay aside money for a PS4, else I'll never see Lordric or Yharnam in the near future
