I would love a FEZ2 that takes place from a 1st person point of view. With Myst-style puzzles, this cool atmosphere of the oriinal game, and some world switchin mechanic as well. VVVVV2 would also be great, like with even more of a metroid-like open world, and some other core mechanic instead of the ravity flip.. Aaand a true 2D sequel to flashback instead of Fade to Black.. Something I always wished happened was that we got a Super Mario World 2. I would have loved to see another 2D Mario game from that era, one that builds on Super Mario World's style/engine. Wasn't this what Super Mario's Wacky Worlds for the 3D0 would have become if they want through with the initial concept. But instead, we got Hotel Mario:(

In the past I thought of a sequel to Vice: Project Doom for newer systems or for indie one would find on Steam but are two very different games somewhat. One thing would to have more stages for the first person shooting and driving segments from the first. Another would have a much deeper story.
Startropics 3 idea is where Mike Jones travels to other planets on a spaceship and end up saving them from the forces of Zoda ending with stopping the alien overlord at Argonia one last time. Plus there should be a greater amount of puzzles for once.

Startropics probably could have developed to be a series with a cool, more fair and exploration-based formula if it continued. I could see the first two games being seen as similar to Zelda 1 and 2, with future games arriving at a codified and polished concept.

Man, that would be so awesome. I guess because Startropics and Punch-Out are both bastard children in Nintendo's eyes, I'd kind of want Mike to run into Little Mac, too.

But instead, we got Hotel Mario:( All toasters, toast toast! It's fucking bizarre to me to think that a non-Nintendo console had Nintendo games, especially ones as fucking bizarre as the CDi Zeldas and Hotel Mario.

The fact Nintendo tries as hard as possible not to acknowledge their existence today adds to their absurdity on occasions when they do come up in conversation.

Here's two potentially interesting prequels.
A game in the Metal Gear Solid universe, set during the German invasion of Poland at the beginning of World War 2. You play as an 18-year-old "charm school" girl under an assumed name of Joy Foster, who has been sent into Poland to snatch a top scientist before the Nazis can find him. Your commanding officer is the mysterious "Wiseman", whose identity you are never able to learn, but makes a small handful of offhanded references to "the Committee" when giving certain orders. Emphasis is on keeping HUD elements and item/gadget carrying to a minimum; you carry one sidearm and one "large" weapon that cannot be concealed. Stealth is a hybrid of classic MGS-style tactical espionage, and Hitman-style blending. There is no Codec/Intel button; in order to get updates on orders, you must "borrow" German radio equipment. The story follows the creation of a German superweapon (a precursor to Shagohod), and Joy's path toward becoming the leader of the Cobra unit.
The other idea is a Yakuza/Ryu ga Gotoku game set around the late 1940s, during Allied occupation of Japan. Here, we'd follow Japanese attitudes towards the American occupiers, but also the rise of the modern Tojo Clan. The player character resembles Shintaro Kazama from earlier games, and is mentioned to be a disgraced former soldier of Imperial Japan who refused to carry out an execution and abandoned duty to avoid being shot himself. The game largely follows him around Okinawa as he does the usual Yakuza game thing: helping people out of tense situations, getting into brawls with people itching for a fight, gambling, dining, and getting to the bottom of a dark secret that could violate Japan's terms of surrender and risk reigniting tensions between Japan and America.

Think you're really on to something here, though I'm kind of torn over whether that character's past should be shared so fully with the player or not. Sort of like Wolverine or Joker. Her mystery feels like a big part of her appeal.

I've had that same idea for years, too bad there's zero chance of it ever happening. Too bad, the insanity of Metal Gear and wacky Nazi super science would have been a match made in heaven. Obviously they'd have to work Boss' pregnancy in there too somehow. Press X to fight contractions! Your water broke, find cover!

I sometimes have dreams about finding a video game that when I wake up, I'm kinda sad the game in question doesn't exist.
I wish I could remember them more clearly, the only one coming to mind is this time I dreamed about a Guantlet/Diablo-type game that was somehow based on Disney's Snow White, which was one of the least interesting ones.

Great ideas! Fans have long dreamed about a prequel game starring The Boss, it's too bad it never happened because seeing the world of Metal Gear's take on WW2 would be pretty interesting. This is exactly the kind of stuff I created the thread for, like let's really deep dive into ideas you have, including story stuff.

I thought about how some characters can come back in Sonic games. Because of Mania, it gives excuse to focus on classic era where you can just resume where the 90s games left off somewhere.
I wanted Battle Kukku to return, but since we will never get another Tails spinoff making them a villain on Eggman's day off can be acceptable new story arc.
Then it came to me one day. The army rebuilt a new base that looks like a giant metallic tree. Its branches have patchwork of land and facilities almost look like the architectural equivalent to bird nests. Sonic and Tails on another world trip investigating energy readings, the soldiers steal shiny objects including what looks like Chaos Emeralds. Chaotix is there on a case to retrieve valuables for a client. Amy makes her first Classic platformer playable role trying to recover something important to her. Fang is there as a minor boss battle because he wants to loot everything.

I thought about how some characters can come back in Sonic games. In the vein of characters coming back, I'd like some of the older Kirby characters to return properly. I'd love to see a new Pokémon Snap. A 3DS version could even use the camera like the 3DS Fatal Frame.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a Mega Man X9, in the style of the Super NES trilogy? It remains one of my favorite trilogys in all of gaming <3 To be honest, I'd prefer the artstyle of X4 - X6 (wouldn't mind HD or cellshaded either), the duck function of X5 onward, the part system of X6, no rescuable reploids, a fun and functional nightmare effect, something like the X-hunters, and story that is epic, and maybe, for a change, the robot master selection paths of Rockman & Forte. Maybe even add a bit of the more exploration heavy feel of ZX and please let there be more space colony settings. X8's ending and the Jakob Elevator were AWESOME. So, uhm, just gimme X9 any way you want, Capcom. I've been waiting for years and at this point, I'd probably buy another X7 out of sheer desperation :/

I wish there had been a No One Lives Forever 3.
The first two NOLFs are some of the most underrated games ever made, I picture a third one moving the timeline up a bit from the 60s to the early 70s, with a Live and Let Die vibe, perhaps Kate Archer could also get a new Foxy Brown like partner whom maybe you could also play as and locations could include New York City.
Unfortunately Monolith seems to have the same phobia of the number 3 as another famous Seattle based developer because they've literally never made a third game, so who knows whether a NOLF 3 never happened because 2 didn't sell well enough or if they just didn't want to make it.
