Is M.I.A.: Missing in Action technically a sequel to Rush 'n Attack, because i was gonna mention this series here with R 'n A seemingly being the best of the lot(especially the NES version). Haven't tried Ex-Patriot yet, but it doesn't look to be much of a hit either.

Edit: How is the expansion for the original? Never really hear it talked about much and Blizzard doesn't seem to be interested in re-releasing it like their other games and expansions. Pretty silly in the "over the top" kinda way, voice acting feels especially overdone. You get 2 new areas to explore and 2 new half-baked character classes, accessible by tweaking one of game's text files, which i couldn't be bothered with. It feels like it's been stitched together.

Virus: It is Aware (PS1) A solid contender for both "Awful names in videogames" and "Worst Video Games" thread. Pretty terrible on all counts, no excuses. At least you had the patience to actually play it. =) Well, it introduced itself on a rather intriguing note: "It all started on a boat when the crew were confronted with an entity called EVIL."

It's not more outdoor-you could fit the whole Diablo 1 in Diablo 2 dungeons. Let's just say - D1 is Kobe Bryant and D2 is Michael Jordan standing next to each other. Which one would you choose? It's been forever since I've touched Diablo II, so my memories of III are probably taking the place of II somewhat. I mainly like the simplicity of having a single town and a single dungeon. Not to belabor the analogy, but Kobe was much better at three pointers so there's still a reason to pick him. 😛 That's apt. Well, ok. There is no accounting for taste(s), otherwise we might end up discussing classical music. People think they like classical music, but they don't. Nobody does really

Diablo - This is going to elicit the same Really?! response I had for WL, but I much prefer the simplicity and properish Rogue-like nature of the original versus the more outdoor and loot oriented sequels. It's not more outdoor-you could fit the whole Diablo 1 in Diablo 2 dungeons. Let's just say - D1 is Kobe Bryant and D2 is Michael Jordan standing next to each other. Which one would you choose?

The NES or even Arcade version of Jackal done in Renegade Ops engine sounds like a really cool concept, i can see it fitting perfectly here. The question is: who would actually want to play this except myself?

"I wanted it to be Resident Evil with ninjas," What he really had in mind was dinos, i suspect . I mean literally, after the success with Resident Evil, you could have placed anything within a game what's even remotely scary or threatening and it should have worked to a certain degree, like.. clowns for example .

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen - This one people might disagree with. I know Soul Reaver has a pretty strong following but I have always preferred the Zelda style gameplay and large array of spells and abilities in the first game to any of the sequels. I was gonna mention it actually, i think it's in the same league as Prince of Persia: Sands of Time--pretty original, so that people often don't want to remember whatever happened afterwards.

I think I've got one, and it's yet another Capcom series! I don't know if this is a controversial opinion or not, but considering that the entire world seems to have completely forgotten this series exists, I'm assuming it's probably not very controversial at all -- the sequels more or less just killed the franchise outright, I believe. I speak of Onimusha! Remember Onimusha? The first game wasn't perfect, but it had a pretty cool atmosphere to it, and was a lot of fun to explore. And genuinely pretty creepy! The sequels, however, were... kind of not great. I mean, they weren't the worst or anything, but they certainly did NOT live up to the promise of the original entry. At least, IMHO. -Tom Also, play Souls of the Samurai if you haven't, it's the same concept as the original Onimusha, done a few years before by Konami. I think Genji: Dawn of the Samurai is a very close call too and it doesn't get mentioned much at all.

If someone can get people to buy 70€ cardboard, it's Nintendo. Not the biggest offender, Steamforged Games asking 120€ for its Dark Souls board game, i reckon RE 2 one won't be much cheaper either

Subjectively speaking- it's the 1st Castlevania rather than its sequels and Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords(a sequel and Galactrix went downhill with its luck based board BS), objectively--could be a lot of games, ranging from Ninja Gaiden(Black is classic and no amount of collective nostalgia gonna change that in the sequels favor:P ), Race Driver:Grid(haven't played Autosport yet, but i strongly believe it hardly tops the original) to Dino Crisis series or Carmageddon.
It might just be that the 1st Sacred game is still in the lead.
