Been playing Silhouette Mirage on the Saturn again. Does anyone know if there is a way to save on the Saturn version? It saves your progress automatically if you die and don't continue in-game if your internal battery is ok, according to some sources on the net.

Also, got any general Metroidvania recommendations? Try any from this list what catches your eye (navigate to the right by pressing on the 'Older Posts').

With Japanese adults barely having the time to die thanks to constant working.. And choosing a "turn-based" game to play sounds a bit ironic to say the least.

I don't want to sound like an old fart, but I'm gonna sound like an old fart: they don't make 'em like they used to. Maybe it wasn't all that practical, but looking at today's phone design - it's as memorable as a wet paper towel.

Maybe it has something to do with 'trolleys'(shopping ones)? I like those, but, believe me, i never met a person who invented 'em.

I'm currently using M88 for some PC-88 games. No issues thus far, but I can't figure out how to change the keyboard configuration - if that's even possible. Using the numbpad for the arrow keys is awkward. I found an option to switch between the 106 and the PC9801 keyboards, but no option to configure individual keys. Is that even possible? I can't even find a good picture of any of those keyboards. If that's possible i don't know how, but tab 6 option 4 let's you use cursor keys as well. Or use Jot2Key or Xpadder and your troubles are over. www.blackdiamond.co.za/incomp/m88settings/m88settings.html

I feel like a lot of the difficulty of Resident Evil 3 comes in the fact that gunpowder mixing was added as a gameplay mechanic, which means you're not as likely to find plain old ammo lying around on its own throughout the game. Thus, the dilemma comes in, of how exactly you should mix together said gunpowder in order to receive what you need. Do you mix together mostly handgun bullets, or mostly shotgun shells, or something else? Herbs also aren't very common; I actually came down to having literally no herbs in either my inventory or in the safe room, until I finally came upon a batch of a whopping two green herbs on a street. Then there's the fact that zombies tend to speedwalk toward you, requiring you to run in many situations, and that there are far more zombies per area here than there ever were in the first two games. Plus there's Nemesis himself, who's always a pain in the ass. blegh. Hard really is Normal in this game i believe. It was rushed, lots of assets were copy-pasted and the game balance suffers as a result imho.

I hope they don't just portray Leon as an action hero, and let him come off as a little overwhelmed by everyone and everything ignoring him like in the original game, hehe. Maybe hire a couple of students to do a voice-work like they did in RE1 and job's done.

I'd throw Battletoads out there as the original being the best, outside of the arcade game none of the sequels really threw anything new into the mix from a gameplay perspective. They all played well and had rocking sound tracks, but the sequels didn't have any wow factor due to most stages being rehashes of what was seen in the original NES game. "Tuff" choice. Battletoads feels more like a platformer and it's way too frustrating in some sections, plus a bit glitchy. I'd go with a Double Dragons crossover title, which is more like a straight beat-em up affair and it looks a bit better imo(especially that famous space battleship stage). And then the rest of the titles copy from that, arcade game also has a pretty shallow bosses.
