R-Type Final has a mode called Baby Baby or not you will die a lot. It's not a 'casual' game by any stretch of the imagination, unless you're a gifted "shmuper". I'm not

A demo for Nykra is out for those who'd like to try it.

I didn't play it much, but I think R-Type FINAL (PS2) is also supposed to be pretty doable. Also has loads and loads of unlockables and extra modes to keep you entertained beyond score hunting. It's a beautiful game, but rather heavy on memorization. There're some hard sections in the game and the last stage is especially unforgiving.

I never did get the importance of cockpit view in racing games. You literally stare through 2 bloody screens--one is your monitor, and the next is car's windshield in-game. It just obstructs a view and it supposed to replicate the real thing. Really?

I also have this problem; I love shmups, but I'm terrible at them. I tried to eat pasta--it didn't help much, believe it or not

something you can't really do in a game where walls of projectiles fill the screen. And that's too bad - Cave had such a beautiful art on offer!

Could try Uchuu Keibitai SDF (NES). It's relatively simple and fun. Or something like Viriax. Shoot-em up/Avoid-em up? A freeware from Locomalito.

So, I cannot figure out how to work Mednafen at all. Few things to consider Griff: you would need 3 bios files in "firmware" folder for PAL/NTSC-U/J machines, then open Mednafen CFG file with any word editing software(like Wordpad or MS Word), scroll down the list and about midway through you should start seeing PSX settings. Tweak those according to this guide (scanlines, bilinear interpolation, screen filters etc.). Hold down ' alt+shift and press 1' while emulator is running to map the controller buttons(press it twice each for them to register), drag and drop CD image on Mednafen .exe to launch the game. F5 save state, F7 to load, some other keyboard shortcuts here.(scroll down a bit)

Zombie gorilla would be pretty stupid for them to include, if you ask me. Also that alligator thing, which is already in the game--who the hell programmed it into? It's a bit out of the context tbh, well..for me at least. I actually agree. FWIW, though, Resident Evil Outbreak File#2 had a zoo scenario with some infected animals. No gorillas, however. Yeah, i remember that. RE 0 had some primates iirc, RE 2 remake however should be about police station, policemen, Ben Bertolucci , William Birkin and some Umbrella troops imo. And Chief Irons' lunacy.

Does anyone think they could add some of the monsters from RE1.5, like the half-man/half-spiders and the zombie gorilla? Zombie gorilla would be pretty stupid for them to include, if you ask me. Also that alligator thing, which is already in the game--who the hell programmed it into? It's a bit out of the context tbh, well..for me at least.

But I still enjoy it for how it handles 3 story lines. Same with Resident Evil 6. It sets out to accomplish great things, but looses something in the process. Mercenaries is as fun as ever tho. ** It's highly likely No Man's Sky gonna end up in these lists after few more years. No matter how many reviews i read or videos watch-just can't make up my mind to actually lift a finger to try it out.
